On October 31st, 1924, one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recent human history occurred southwest of the island of Okinawa in Japan. Yet, very few people know about this eruption and the volcano which produced it, with the eruption rating on the volcanic explosivity index as a 5. This video was discuss this eruption which everyone seemingly forgot about that originated from the Iriomotejima submarine volcano.
