Recapping Portland Trail Blazers’ 112-103 win against New York Knicks
Anfernee Simons scored 30 points, Josh Hart added 23 in his Portland debut and the Trail Blazers rallied back from a big deficit to beat the New York Knicks 112-103 on Saturday afternoon at the Moda Center.
The Blazers overcame a 23-point deficit in the third quarter, outscoring the Knicks 35-11 in the fourth quarter to notch their second consecutive victory. In the fourth, New York made just 3 of 18 shots (16.7%), while the Blazers knocked down 12 of 22 (54.5%).
The Blazers’ back-to-back wins come after Portland had lost eight of nine.
Hart, acquired in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans this week, scored nine points from late in the third quarter to the end of the game. Simons scored 12 points in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth. He shot 11 of 23 from the field, made 6 of 12 threes and dished out eight assists.
Jusuf Nurkic finished with 12 points, 20 rebounds and six assists for the Blazers (23-34).
The Blazers started Simons, Hart, CJ Elleby, Justise Winslow and Nurkic. Ben McLemore scored 17 points off the bench.
Julius Randle had 28 points, 16 rebounds and six assists for the Knicks (25-32), who were wrapping up a five-game road trip.
