Portland Trail Blazers at Los Angeles Lakers: Game preview, time, TV channel, how to watch free live stream online

The 2-0 Portland Trail Blazers take their early feel good story back on the road for one game at the LA Lakers before returning to Moda Center for a four-game home stand.

In Los Angeles, the Blazers will encounter an 0-2 Lakers team that looks almost exactly as it did last season.

LeBron James is amazing.

Anthony Davis is banged up (but playing).

Russell Westbrook is polarizing and hoisting bricks.

But the Lakers remain a formidable team who could humble the Blazers in a hurry. The Lakers could feel a sense of desperation to get a win with four games coming up against Denver and Minnesota on the road and then home games against the Nuggets and New Orleans.

In order to get back on track, the Lakers first and foremost must shoot better. They are hitting on just 38.8% from the field and an anemic 22.4% on threes. Both percentages rank last in the NBA.

Westbrook, much maligned last season for his shooting woes, is 1 of 9 on threes to start the season.

What’s sort of wild about the Lakers’ three-point percentage is that they have attempted 42.5 per game compared to 28.5 for the Blazers (36.8% success rate).

Also, the Lakers are not doing a good job of following up on those misses. They have amassed just 12 second-chance points in two games compared to 30 for the Blazers.

It certainly should be noted that the Lakers’ two losses came against Golden State (123-109), the defending champions, and the LA Clippers (103-97), two of the NBA’s best.

At some point, the Lakers will shoot better and James and Davis will produce victories. Portland hopes that run doesn’t begin on Sunday.

Blazers center Olivier Sarr has been diagnosed with a high-grade partial tear of the scapholunate ligament in his right wrist, the team has announced. Sarr will be re-evaluated in 6 weeks. The injury occurred on Oct. at Golden State.

The 7-foot Sarr had appeared to play his way into the rotation before the injury.

Blazers: G Gary Payton II (core muscle recovery), C Olivier Sarr (right wrist sprain) and F/C Trendon Watford are out.

Lakers: Anthony Davis (lower back tightness), LeBron James (left foot soreness), Troy Brown Jr. (lower back soreness) are probable; Dennis Schroder (UCL repair), Cole Swider (right foot soreness) and Thomas Bryant (left UCL repair) are out.

The Blazers return to Portland for a four-game home stand starting Monday at 7 p.m. against Denver.
