7-run 7th clinches series win for No. 13 Oregon softball at Baylor
Oregon softball capped its trip to Texas with a series win at Baylor thanks to a series of RBI singles in a seven-run seventh.
Allee Bunker went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and KK Humphreys went 2 for 4 with three RBIs for the No. 13 Ducks in a 10-4 win over the Bears on Saturday.
Bunker singled in Paige Sinicki to get UO on the board just two batters into the game. In the third, Bunker reached on an error that allowed Sinicki to score and Humphreys drove her in with an RBI double to give Oregon a 3-0 lead.
Baylor got a run back in the bottom of the third when Makenna Kliethermes hit a batter with the bases loaded. The Bears tied the game in the sixth on a two-out, two-run double by McKenzie Wilson off Jordan Dail (4-0), who allowed two runs on three hits, a walk, hit batter and wild pitch over 2.0 innings of relief.
The Ducks (8-1) rallied in the top of the seventh as seven players reached base, including five straight, and went 7 for 14 with runners in scoring position on the day.
Hanna Delgado hit an RBI single to put UO back on top and two batters later, Bunker hit a bases-loaded single. Humphreys hit a two-run single and Vallery Wong and Kedre Luschar also hit RBI singles in the inning.
The Bears (6-2) got a run back on an RBI groundout in the bottom of the inning.
